Kelsey Michael & Alice Wonder Harp

The music of Penzance based singer songwriter Kelsey Michael is a hotline to West Cornwall’s nature and landscape, bonding listeners through a re-kindling of their collective experience of wild places. Her recent single releases ‘Music of The Waves’ and ‘Mounts Bay Morning’ have received international radio play, featuring on Giles Peterson’s 6 music radio show.

Singer Songwriting, storytelling and folk elements all work together in Kelsey’s music. Her sound is contemporary and unique – uplifting ‘classic’ piano songs influenced by writers such as Carole King sit alongside cinematic song-landscapes. Lyrics paint white water washed reefs and wild thyme on the cliff edge. A singer with a dynamic wide-reaching vocal range, Kelsey can take her listeners to rare and exhilarating places, creating a world of texture within a song.

Harpist Alice Wonder will guest with Kelsey’s band Lethowsow which features Treve Nicol on bass and Greg Dyer on drums. Alice’s magical set will open the night with a mesmerising collection of her own nature inspired compositions, plus harp pieces in an exciting variety of styles taking the audience around the world.

Alice also performs in Cornwall with her duo Sea Strings and folk/ceilidh band ‘The Murmurations’.
