Event Description

True Foxes, acclaimed Folk/Americana, cousin-duo from Cornwall, are quickly becoming a household name in the South West and we’re delighted to welcome them back to the venue!

Amie’s powerful vocals and soulful song writing has been compared to the likes of Stevie Nicks and Brandi Carlile, performing on Guitar. Together with Chloe’s ethereal harmonies and melodic bass lines the duo’s storytelling and sisterly banter takes the audience on an emotional journey.

Described as ‘the hardest working duo in the South West’ (Daniel Pascoe, BBC introducing) the self-managed duo performed at 250 shows across England, Scotland and Wales in 2023 receiving incredible reviews across some prestigious venues such as the Liverpool Philharmonic and The Water Rats in London. 2022 saw the release of the duo’s debut EP ‘Sunny’ which has since been featured on multiple radio stations, including BBC Radio stations: Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Gloustershire and Wiltshire.

In the spring of 2023 they performed their originals on a debut headline tour holding ticketed events then returned to perform at major UK festivals such as Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Wilderness in Oxford, Wychwood in Cheltenham, Celtic Connections in Scotland and Boardmasters in Cornwall, as well as performing on the main stages at Tunes in the Dunes, Great Estate, Rock Oyster and RattlerFest.

With one EP under their belt, 4 new singles, two music videos out now and a Debut album in store for 2024, things are looking exciting for True Foxes!

“…there are some fine vocal harmonies here, some unobtrusively excellent playing, and some impossibly catchy songs with some clever lyrics.” – Folking.com

“Stunning harmonies and a beautifully produced song from the Kernow cousins. I was captivated from the opening bar!” – Steve Knightly (Show of Hands)

“Highly recommended artists” – Celtic Connections Festival, Danny Kyle Open Awards

Anna Anise is a singer of feel-good folk songs, folded into traditional jigs and reels from which she finds inspiration for her storytelling songwriting. Her recent swelling heartfelt single, Overexposed, earned her radio play on BBC Upload and BBC Introducing. Higher Plain Music said ‘[Anna’s] melodies are fantastic, the arrangements sound fresh and yet the listener feels connected to old-school roots.’

“Lovely DIY folk sound, lovely vocals, just brilliant” –  Adam Crowther, BBC Radio
