Event Description
Chapel Street Winds is a new group, formed in 2022 from the finest wind players in Cornwall. It made its debut in the Chapel Street Music Autumn Series of that year, and will make further appearances this year, both in Penzance and further afield in Cornwall.
Based on the traditional wind quintet format ie flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn, the group embraces a wide range of repertoire, from the classics through to contemporary music and arrangements of lighter music.
In their concert on June 4th, in a wide-ranging and attractive programme, they will play music by Beethoven, Hallam and Ibert, arrangements of music by Gershwin and Debussy and Arnold’s Three Sea Shanties.
